Kocen 2003 Summer Vacation
Hot Springs, AR
We finally made it to Chattanooga. We made a stop at Jack Daniel's Whisky place but don't have any digital pictures, oh well.

So as we came into town we made our way to the Aquarium, really interesting building
Their big hype is Sea Horses. This one really looked awesome
This shell is over 500,000 years old and is huge. Just image if any of these are still alive
The aquarium is set up in sections, each one is of an area of the world and part of the ecosystem. Here is some boulders and a little stream, if you did not know better you would think it was outside at some park
Michele walking around some of the tanks. They had a few hundred of these tanks on the many levels in the Aquarium
The turtle was very curious
The sting rays were very pretty and were swimming around a lot. This one must have been resting
Various local artist designed these turtle paintings which is under about 2 feet of water
The ceiling of the entire building was this multicolor fiber optics which kept changing colors
This gator seemed really nice and I am so glad it was behind an inch of glass too
Another gator kept taunting people
Andrew under glass. When he stood up he bumped his head, he keeps forgetting how tall he is getting
These baseball statues just might strike out if Andrew can throw a fast ball
The side walk was tall torn up and water was coming out of it. Actually there is this little stream that runs through the courtyard to the Aquarium and there were a lot of kids in bathing suits just playing away in the water.
Next was the Chattanooga Choo-Choo. You know the song, now who sang it and when? I don't know, too young

Most of the train has been converted to a hotel and restaurants.
Yet another train picture
"So, how do we get him to stop taking pictures?"
Restaurant row
Our final stop of the day was Look Out Mountain. This place has a train that goes up over a mile to the top
The track has a cable that connects to the train to pull the car up
The car is at an angle so when you go up it levels off a little
It is kind of strange walking into the car when the steps are not level
Looking up the mountain
You can see quite a ways when you are at the top. Supposedly you can see Georgia to the south.
Looking down the track
People live all over the mountain and this house had this interesting wall.
I am very curious how they made this wall so it would not fall down
'The Battles for Chattanooga'. After Nashville fell to the Union, Chattanooga was next and apparently was a big moral blow. Since this battle took place so high up it was called the battle in the clouds
Looking down the tracks as we left the mountain back to the low lands
